FRONTIER AIRLINES TO SUPPORT MILITARY BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS WITH DISCOUNTED FLIGHTS

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — The Military Basketball Association (MBA) today announced a partnership with Frontier Airlines to provide discounted air travel for athletes, coaches, and staff attending the 2026 MBA and WMBA Championship Finals. Hosted at the United States Air Force Academy from May 1–3, 2026, this partnership addresses a long-standing challenge for military athletes.

Travel and lodging expenses often create a significant barrier to national competition for many military athletes. Frontier’s support will directly lower out-of-pocket costs for participating service members and veterans, thereby broadening access to the MBA/WMBA’s resiliency-focused athletic programs.

Mike Meyers, MBA Founder and Commissioner, expressed the association's pride in securing Frontier Airlines' support for the Finals. He highlighted that "millions of service members and veterans rely on Frontier across the country," and this partnership will enable MBA/WMBA athletes to "Fly Frontier" to compete. Meyers emphasized the MBA/WMBA’s core mission to reduce mental-health stressors, noting their program has engaged over 1,000 athletes across 50+ teams for eight years, contributing to "zero suicides among participants" by bolstering mental health through sport. He concluded by thanking Frontier for joining their campaign to support military and veteran mental health.

Christopher Kennedy Rodgers, President of the MBA Players Association, further stated that "partnering with Frontier to reduce travel costs is a tremendous help to the military basketball community." He elaborated that these lower travel expenses "provide relief for service members managing financial and mental-health challenges and allow us to keep showcasing resilience through sport."

About the Event The 2026 MBA and WMBA Championship Finals, held May 1–3, 2026, at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, will bring together teams from across the services and veteran community. The event aims to foster competition and promote wellbeing through organized sport.
