MILITARY BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION REACHES A MULTIYEAR AGREEMENT WITH CBS SPORTS

MBA’s Championship Game will air live on CBS Sports Network in 2024, 2025 and 2026

Colorado Springs, CO – September 1, 2023. The Military Basketball Association (MBA) is proud to announce a multiyear agreement with CBS Sports for the MBA Finals Championship Game to air live on CBS Sports Network in 2024, 2025 and 2026. In the first year of this agreement, the MBA Championship Game will air from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 26th, 2024.

“Once again, the MBA is extremely grateful to CBS Sports and Paramount Veterans Network for providing the brightest stage in sports to the nation’s finest heroes. We look forward to bringing our platform of “Life Through Basketball” to the great city of Philadelphia to raise awareness around the important topic of mental fitness and resiliency. These challenges deserve a sustained platform to bring awareness and we are excited that CBS Sports Network has provided our athletes a platform to see resiliency in action,” says Mike Meyers, Founder and Commissioner, MBA.

With the Championship Game airing on CBS Sports Network, the MBA raises the stakes for all teams competing in the MBA Finals Tournament. Since its inception in 2018, the MBA Finals is considered the best US Military Basketball Tournament in the world and will feature the top 16 pure installation or military community-based men’s programs in the world.

“CBS Sports Network provides a cable platform that will allow viewers the opportunity to watch the best two military basketball teams demonstrate superior athleticism while showcasing resiliency and camaraderie among the Armed Forces,” says Angel Acevedo, Deputy Commissioner, MBA. “The spirit of serving in time honored professions will be seen around the country,” he continued.

“We are proud to continue showcasing our nation’s service members with the Military Basketball Association Championship on CBS Sports Network,” said Dan Weinberg, EVP Programming, CBS Sports.

“At the Paramount Veterans Network (VetNet), we have four pillars of service: Resiliency, Appreciation, Action and Impact. MBA's mission demonstrates this through their mission, 'Life through Basketball'. MBA has consistently shown that by playing Basketball (Action), they have transformed service members lives (Impact). By bringing together the various military branches to play sports (Appreciation), not only do they showcase the camaraderie, they highlight the strength and determination that it takes to overcome their challenges (Resiliency). No matter what challenges they may face, they can get through it together through sports. These are the inspiring stories we want to tell on our platforms," says Betty Diaz, Director of Programs & Operations, Paramount Global.
